Better2Gether365

In the last two years, I've lost five uncles. I've seen firsthand, through my aunts, how difficult life becomes after the loss of a spouse — and at some point, every one of them has mentioned wanting to find a suitable housemate. That is the gap this service was built to fill.

— Marc Iannini, Founder

Better2Gether365 exists to help bereaved seniors move forward after the loss of a spouse with dignity, confidence, choice, and renewed connection — through thoughtful, non-romantic shared-living introductions between people who value friendship, mutual respect, and a fuller quality of life.

Every member is an individual — with a unique history, lifestyle, routine, and vision for the future.

Connection at your own pace. You maintain control over every decision, every introduction, every step.

Success measured by trust. We measure our success through member trust, member satisfaction, and the confidence members feel as they build friendships that support comfort, belonging, and everyday joy.

Life after loss

The quiet changes after losing a spouse

The loss of a spouse changes daily life in deeply personal ways. Many independent older adults continue to live capably on their own — while the home around them grows quieter.

What members often describe

  • Meals become quieter, and routines that once felt meaningful lose their rhythm
  • Days hold fewer conversations, and small moments have no one to share them with
  • An otherwise comfortable home can begin to feel isolating
  • Family and friends care deeply — but they cannot be there for everyday life

What members are looking for

These are capable, independent adults. They are not looking for dating, remarriage, or institutional care — and they are not looking to give up the homes, routines, and privacy they cherish.

What they want is practical and human:

  • Daily conversation and shared meals
  • Mutual encouragement and greater peace of mind
  • Real social connection with a compatible peer
  • The possibility of sharing certain household costs through an independently arranged living situation

Better2Gether365 exists to make that kind of connection feel personal, secure, and attainable — at a pace each member sets for themselves.

How it works

A personal, private, member-centered process

From your first conversation through every introduction that follows, the process is structured around you — your comfort, your boundaries, and your pace.

A private, caring conversation

It begins with a complimentary, no-pressure consultation, followed by a comprehensive founding member intake. We listen carefully to your history, routines, interests, household preferences, boundaries, and companionship goals.

All member interviews take place over Zoom or in person. In-person visits require a $75 deposit to cover gas and time. The full deposit is credited toward your membership fee.

Verification and thoughtful screening

Every member completes identity verification and a structured screening process before any introductions — including government-issued ID verification, structured interviews, and acceptance of our member code of conduct.

Getting to know a potential match

Members will be encouraged to call potential matches first to help determine whether there may be a good fit. We encourage members to speak with a potential match five times, for approximately one hour per call. This provides up to five hours to get to know one another before meeting in person.

Meeting in person

When it is time to meet, members are encouraged to spend meaningful time together over several days. Our suggested goal is ten separate days together, with approximately eight hours per day, so both people have sufficient time to decide whether the connection is a good fit.

Our service

A high-touch concierge experience, from intake to check-in

We focus on quality introductions rather than volume — a limited number of well-considered introductions based on the full profile of each member.

Step one

Founding member profile & intake

A private, comprehensive intake establishes your personal profile and provides the foundation for thoughtful matching. Each profile includes:

  • Personal history and life-transition experience
  • Lifestyle, routines, interests, and social preferences
  • Household habits, expectations, and communication style
  • Preferences around privacy, guests, meals, pets, and quiet time
  • Personal boundaries, deal-breakers, and compatibility priorities
  • Housing preference and future plans — whether you are looking to move or prefer to remain in your current home

One matching criterion will be each member’s housing preference and future plans: whether they are looking to move or prefer to remain in their current home. Better2Gether365 will use this preference to help identify more compatible potential matches.

Always

Identity verification & screening

Member trust and member safety are central to the Better2Gether365 experience. Before participating in curated introductions, each member completes:

  • Government-issued identity verification
  • Confirmation of contact information
  • Structured member interviews and reference checks when authorized
  • Acceptance of the member code of conduct

When you're ready

White-glove transition support

When members independently decide to explore a shared-living arrangement, we support communication, preparation, and mutual understanding during this significant life transition:

  • A transition-readiness conversation and shared-living expectations worksheet
  • Guidance for discussing privacy, routines, responsibilities, and boundaries
  • Move-in and trial-period planning checklists
  • Referrals to independent attorneys, mediators, senior move managers, and other qualified professionals

Ongoing

Post-match check-ins & re-match support

We stay connected after a match progresses — scheduled outreach during early friendship development, transition-period check-ins, and opportunities to discuss concerns or changing preferences. If an introduction or arrangement does not continue, re-match support is available whenever you wish to restart the curated matching process.

Trust & dignity

What we are — and what we are not

Clear boundaries protect your trust. Members independently conduct their own due diligence and make their own decisions regarding meetings, friendships, housing, finances, and contracts.

We are

A companionship and compatibility-matching service — strictly non-romantic, private, and member-centered. We treat every member with courtesy, sensitivity, and confidentiality, and protect your independence at every stage.

We are not

A dating service, real estate broker, landlord, tenant representative, property manager, legal adviser, financial adviser, or healthcare provider. We do not list, lease, sell, manage, or negotiate housing, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome.

Your choices, always

Members retain complete choice over all introductions and decisions. Compatibility is evaluated with care and without pressure, and you select and retain any attorney, advisor, or other professional you may need.

Your privacy, protected

Member information is maintained with discretion and protected through privacy-focused practices, confidential records, and a documented process for reporting any concerns.

Screening supports a more informed introduction process but does not guarantee the safety, character, conduct, compatibility, or actions of any member. Better2Gether365 does not guarantee a match, friendship, cohabitation arrangement, or any personal outcome.

Fees

Pilot Program — Founding Membership: $150

The first 100 members receive the founding-member rate of $150, reduced from the regular membership price of $300.

Interview options and in-person deposit: All member interviews take place over Zoom or in person. A $75 deposit is required for in-person visits to cover gas and time. This deposit is credited in full toward your membership fee, not charged in addition to it.

Better2Gether365 appreciates our founding members. To show our appreciation, we will waive any additional fees until a mutual match is found.

For adult children & family

We understand your questions — and we welcome them

When a parent considers sharing their home, adult children rightly want to know: Is this safe? Who is this person? Who is behind this service? Here are honest answers to the questions families ask us most.

“Is my parent safe meeting strangers?”

Every member completes government-issued identity verification, confirmation of contact information, structured interviews, and reference checks when applicable and authorized — before any introduction takes place. Introductions happen only after compatibility has been reviewed and both parties are open to it, and your parent controls the pace of every step.

“Is this a dating site in disguise?”

No. The service is strictly non-romantic, and that boundary is written into our member code of conduct. What members seek is friendship, shared meals, conversation, and mutual encouragement — not romance. A dignified companionship arrangement is the goal, never a relationship your parent didn't ask for.

“Will Mom or Dad lose their independence?”

Never. Members retain complete choice over all introductions and decisions — whether to meet, continue a connection, explore shared living, or end an arrangement. Your parent makes every decision independently. We support thoughtful introductions; we do not decide for anyone.

“What about the house, the lease, the money?”

Better2Gether365 is not a real estate broker, landlord, property manager, or financial adviser. We do not list, lease, manage, or negotiate housing, and we never collect rent or handle funds between members. Any living arrangement is independently evaluated, decided, and documented by the members themselves — with referrals to independent attorneys and mediators whenever wanted.

“What if it doesn't work out?”

Every arrangement includes a transition-readiness conversation, a shared-living expectations worksheet, and guidance for discussing boundaries and exit expectations up front. Our post-match check-ins stay with your parent through the early period, and re-match support is available if an arrangement does not continue.

“Can I be involved?”

Yes — if your parent wishes. We offer private informational sessions for adult children and trusted family members. The choice to include family always belongs to your parent, and their privacy is protected with discretion at every stage.

About

Founded for this next chapter of life

Better2Gether365 was founded by Newport Beach resident Marc Iannini, whose own family's experience with loss shaped the service's design.

The loss of a spouse often changes daily life in deeply personal ways. Many independent older adults continue to live capably on their own while experiencing quieter homes, fewer shared routines, and less everyday conversation.

Better2Gether365 was founded to offer those adults a trusted, private alternative to impersonal roommate listings, online platforms, and informal referrals — a service grounded in careful listening, meaningful compatibility, discretion, and member trust.

We serve independent Orange County adults, generally age 60 and older, who value friendship, mutual respect, personal independence, and a fuller quality of life — and who want to remain active participants in the homes, relationships, and communities they cherish.

Our approach utilizes clear written agreements defining expectations for rent, chores, and shared utilities. Members independently review and agree to all terms, seeking qualified legal advice as needed.
